Description

Edit: Name added :D

So I drew Boone after my lovie :iconraven-ayama: stated she was drawing Simone aaaand... it turned into this. I've never put a reference sheet of my cranky, snarky, cynical, misanthropic, nihilistic, extremely good-looking, assholish doctor up SO!

Here we are :D

He was heavily inspired from Dr. House M.D. and when I say heavily, I mean heavily. He has similar mannerisms, the same addiction (he was originally for the #PendeoClub), he's a doctor, and he's a cripple (he had destroyed his arm). Differences are that he was younger from the outset and has now found someone to love in the charming Simone Trillfigner.

I did three versions of him. The first (top left) is his original look, the second (top right) is him with a piercing (which he wouldn't do, ever. That's more like his best friend Dexter), and the final one is Demon!Boone (part of a storyline I have with the lovely Raven).

I would've drawn more of him, but I... couldn't be bothered. He has a Spider Monkey tail, a crippled and scarred right arm, and fairly lean to medium build if anyone is interested |P

HIS OLD PROFILE IS BELOW!

Overall Description:
Born an ever inquisitive child, Boone’s eyes were always searching, his mind always wondering. His adopted father, Jeffrey, said this state of mind was a gift, and as such, at a young age, taught his son the ways of music. His independent nature had him learning that which his father could not teach – a love of music and practicing it. His father initially taught him the piano before moving on to the cello. Boone then self-taught himself the guitar, and upon reaching the age of 16, bought his own guitar – a 1959 Gibson Flying-V – which he still owns, and cherishes, to this day. Despite his talent in music however, he did not attain the “mental stimulant” addiction, instead growing interested in card games, and then gambling, at the age of 13. His father, a keen player of poker amongst his brothers, taught his son how to gamble and shuffle the cards like a pro. Boone also knows how to flip a coin through his fingers, something taught to him by an uncle.

At the age of 14, Boone experienced his first medical marvel. Rebecca – Boone’s adopted mother – a medical genius in her field and a well-known doctor amongst the hospital – solved a diagnostic case, earning her the respect of her peers, just by observing the symptoms and tracking back through the history of the patient. He's been interested in diagnostic medicine ever since.

History:
Born and raised by human parents, having been adopted into the family, Boone was an only child, his two human parents unable to conceive naturally. His parents were supportive of their son in every way, allowing him to do what he pleased as long as he told them what he was going to do and where he was going. Thus, Boone grew to be an independent child, looking after himself. Ever-curious about the world, Boone was always thinking, always inquiring, reading and wondering. This was further enhanced when Boone entered into school. His thoughtful mind paved way to an intelligence beyond any. However, with school came a life lesson that – even to this day – Boone still must accept. Having grown up in an all-human environment, Boone learnt the hard way that he was ‘different’ to everyone else. Bullied at school, Boone was called a freak and a weirdo. His tail was constantly pulled in jest, he was pushed to the ground often, and his ears were flicked in class. Boone however defended himself against these people with words, cutting and cynical. He learned how to cope by being just as biting with something that could not be easily healed – a bruised ego.

As Boone grew older, he had few friends, though one such girl did manage to befriend him. Her name was Victoria. A human, she protected him from another bullying attack. Though Boone did not immediately warm up to the new girl, it was soon that both became friends. At that time, Boone’s father introduced Boone to card games and tricks – Boone’s father specifically an avid player of Poker and the intricate shuffling involved. Boone’s father often played Poker with his friends during social gatherings, and hoped his son could be just as active in the ways of card games and tricks as him. Much to Boone’s father’s delight – he did. Much to Boone’s father’s horror, it was all the time. Boone was made to see a psychiatrist a week after his parents found out about his gambling. The psychiatrist – a Pendeogan and an expert in all matters Pendeogen – told his parents calmly that their son, as a Pendeogan, was addicted to gambling and that they had nothing to worry about, though, he stated, “he needs to learn to control this”. Boone was taught by his parents how to be meticulous about his addiction and gamble on a budget, being able to control his spending.

That was when Boone became one short of obsessive-compulsive, keeping track of his bank account and the money on his person. However, this also leaked into his daily life – everything was planned, recorded, dated and stored. To his parents’ delight, Boone’s grades were improving more than ever, though even before that point, he had always been an intelligent child. It came to the point where, at the age of 15, he was top in his class in high school and accepted into a prestigious academy. At the same time, the relationship between Boone and Victoria moved from friends to more than friends. In the prestigious academy, he continued his gambling way, though made sure to keep to his parents’ word: “stay meticulous”. During those three years, the Pendeo excelled in school, coming top in his grade and moving on to university and – with his grades and average – Boone entered into Medical School, specifically St. Gondwyn’s University of Medicine and Science (GUMS). Victoria did so too, both coming in the top 10 of their grade. It was also then that he decided to move out and into an apartment with his girlfriend.

At the age of 18 was when Boone first met Dexter, Dex having literally fallen from the sky. After taking the young Pendeogan to the hospital, the two parted ways but met once again when Dex went to the pharmacy to buy medicine for his mother. After talking once again, it was Boone who introduced Dex to body art, stating that it was a “better pastime than breaking a leg”. After Dex became an avid body artist, the two grew from acquaintances to friends to best friends. Though their friendship was a strong one, Victoria – Boone’s girlfriend – was uncomfortable around the more outspoken, comfortable-in-his-skin Dexter. It was because of this, the tension between Victoria and Boone mounted to the point where Victoria stated she couldn’t stand how “changed” he was. To her he wasn’t normal. With those words, Boone decided enough was enough, and packing his belongings whilst she was away, moved. Dexter invited his best friend to come live with them (having just gotten a new roommate in the form of second cousin Delilah). Agreeing, Boo moved in to live with his best friend. That was when Dex found out about his gambling…

Though mostly happy-go-lucky and carefree, Dexter had a temper and he also hated his friend’s gambling tendencies, often having to pay Boone’s share of the rent because his friend was completely broke. After his break-up from his more-than-three-year relationship with Victoria, Boone lost all sense of meticulousness. Though he remained relatively stable in terms of grades in university, he gambled away his rent money. After finally threatening Boone that he would stab his friend in the eye with his tattoo iron, Boo promised he would try to control his addiction. For five days shy of two weeks (or fourteen days), Boone managed to survive without gambling, though he was going through mental torture in the process. Often irritated, Boone would find things to preoccupy him, including card shuffling, flipping coins and playing music. Finally, as the clock struck 12 on what would be his sixth day of three weeks of not gambling, Boone completely lost it. Grabbing a fork from the kitchen, Boone committed a form of seppuku on his arm.

Stabbing and twisting and ripping and slashing until, with a final scream, and a horrified Delilah watching on, Boone threw the fork to the ground and collapsed in a heap, blood pouring from his now mangled arm. Several minutes later, Dex and Delilah had rushed their friend and fellow Pendeo to the hospital. Several more hours later, Boone was put under the knife of a skilled surgeon who managed to save the young Pendeogan’s arm. Waking up, Boone was faced with the wrath of Dex, who scolded him for doing what he did. Soon after, the doctor came inside, informing Boone that his arm was permanently damaged. In order to keep the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other such anatomical parts of the arm from completely dying, he had to keep his arm in a sling and exercise whatever remained of his right distal arm and hands as he could.

A left-handed individual, Boone commented rather sarcastically that at least he could still write! During his stay in hospital, Boone remained in extreme amounts of pain during the month it took him to recover, the nurses and doctors giving him morphine to get him through the day… and introduced him to Vicodin. After a few weeks away from the hospital, all the while Boone taking copious amounts of Vicodin, Dex made a mention that Boone was now addicted to Vicodin. However, Boone refuses to believe this, stating that he needs Vicodin for his arm. This denial lasts to this day, though Boo is no longer addicted to gambling…

Additional Information:
• Because Boone was raised in an environment of humans, he cannot understand why people are so rude or uncouth to him, despite Dex trying to explain why to his best friend
• Boone, if one could not guess, has a Spider Monkey tail. Spider Monkey’s have prehensile tails, which means they can easily manipulate objects with their tails just as easily as a hand in humans
• Boone’s arm is mangled, with the flesh wrinkled, scarred and deformed. He can manipulate it, but only does so when he needs to, such as daily essentials.
• Boone is left-handed!

Mind you, that's his ooooold profile, but most of it stays true.

Enjoy people! :D
